I had set my alarm 4 times, @ 7AM, 7:30, 8AM, and 8:15... and I tried to make sure that I leave Kate's condo in Saigon at exactly 8:30am as the bus going to Phnom Penh leaves at exactly 9am!
9AM... That's what the clock said when I woke up... my eyes just went wide, I starred at the window, I saw how sunny it was outside, my watch that has Philippine time says it's 10AM... and Saigon is an hour late... I rushed outside, knocked on Kate's door...she got out and was surprised that I was still there! omg... this is a nightmare... the next bus trip is at 1pm she says and there is no way that I can be in Phnom Penh in time for the HSC. I was sooo doomed.
Vietnam Airlines! that flies to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap every day except Thursday (do not take that part as fact lol, I really don't know how often their flights to Cambodia is) It costs you 110 USD for a one way ticket and you don't have to worry about getting your ass sore from the 6 hour bus ride as the plane ride only takes about less than 30 minutes to get to the destination!
So there, I JUST lost 110 USD for that plane ride, but it totally saved me from my dilemma! I thought, I would rather spend than get there late and get killed... lol!
The event went really smooth, and I was just surprised with how much preparations the organizers had gone through. Their AVP was really nice, it kind of gave me goose bumps! hahaha! I loved it! the venue is actually a floating boat, like a yacht of some sort... The backdrop had a real frame! and I was like.. wow...
It was sponsored by Evian and Zato, so I was drinking Zato all night and spraying Evian on my face as it was kind of hot that night!
