After months of planning, I was in Macau again for HSC Macau, the third leg of the One WORLD series. I had entrusted the organizing to good friends in Macau, Daniel and Cecilia who's in the events business. It was set up in a resto bar called 8tto pronounced something like oto since 8 in Portuguese is pronounced like "oytuh". It was a very nice venue with fantastic food! and I mean it! it was great! I arrived in Macau around afternoon of the same event date with Albert and Icy my usual HSC entourage haha! this is actually Albert's 3rd, and Icy's 2nd!
It was pretty relaxed at first, a few had gone on time, so I took my time to eat and to socialize, I had spent some time with Aryana who's originally from Macau, Soy who's originally from East Timor and Luke from Australia, you see, for a start, it really felt so international... ha ha! it was interesting to connect to these people, I have not met them before and they were there in support of the project. People started coming in at around past 9, and I felt that I had to pick up the phasing. A friend from Manila had gone to HK that same week that I was there and apparently was in Macau on that same day! He was so upset that he didn’t make it to the Manila leg, but when he found out that I was doing it in Macau, he had gone with his friend and excitingly waited for his turn! it was great... everything went fine, I had about 50 heads! not bad yeah?! Though it had left me tired and drained again... but seeing everybody that night, made me forget all that stress and exhaustion :)
Soooo... after my last shot... Daniel had surprised me with this write up!!! Wow! I was like... what the?!? this aint a Filipino news paper! it's the Macau Post! seemed they really wanted to surprise me with it! and of course I was! the writer of the article also came that night to get his first hand experience of HSC and to interview me as well right after the event...Though I was very exhausted, it felt very refreshing, this journalist made me felt that this thing we were doing was really something worth writing, and he had made me feel very relaxed and comfy... we talked a lot of stuff about HSC and other stuff that I was glad to share with him, like about the Philippine Fashion scene and that of Asia as well... though I didn’t see myself that credible enough to talk about the whole of Asia, he had made me feel comfortable and had made his point that my insights do count since I am a part of it, big or small.
